How to Remove and ReInstall a Window Screen

In this instructional video you’re shown how to remove and reinstall your Milgard window screens. You should have a basic understanding of simple hand tools to undertake this project.  Remember to wear eye protection and keep pets and small children out of the area when performing this process.

The tools required for this project are:

• safety glasses
• gloves

Your screen will typically have a snug fit.  Press up on the top of the screen.  Lift up on the screen tabs, and carefully remove the screen.  There are four components to the screen: a compression spring, frame, mesh, and screen tabs.  When you’re ready to reinstall the screen, slide the screen into the groove and lift the screen tabs while pressing the top.
